Teaching About Native People in the Americas
1 Day Professional Development Training for K-12 Teachers

What terminology for Native People is appropriate in our classrooms? How can lessons about history, social studies, literature, and art all incorporate Indigenous perspectives? What resources are available that correspond our school’s curriculum? Akomawt educators spend the day working with teachers and staff to understand the approaches and methods educators can use when incorporating Native American history and contemporary experiences into their lesson plans.  Resources for K-12 teachers are shared and questions are answered throughout this interactive day long training.
